  11/23/22-Task-replace ice maker water supply valve. We Declined their work after receiving their very high cost estimate for a simple plumbing job. I paid their $38 show up /estimate fee and declined their work after waiting all day for them to arrive. They arrived at 3:30 pm on the day we had agreed on. Their personnel were polite both during scheduling and the service tech was professional and polite, price was too high for a small plumbing job.

  Service scheduling leadtime about 1-2 weeks for plumber, I was given a timeframe that they would arrive sometime within the entire day on 11/23/22. They arrived around 3.30 pm and looked at job and provided a price before work begin. The cost estimate and coming to our house was $38.

  Then I got the price estimate of $ 423.96, wow, I couldn’t believe it. I asked how they calculated the cost, hours and labor, nope it’s a task based total number , no definition on hours and material cost. I declined the work and paid $38. The technician was polite and professional, he was following Ostrom cost procedures. He arrived on the date we agreed on, they are very busy.

  Not willing to pay the Ostrom amount, I went to Lowes , got a Sharkbite 3/4×3/4×1/4 ball valve, it was installed in 1 hour. Cost was $29. I’m thankful for a friend who had used Sharkbite and had tools to install.

  No comment on quality of work, I only got a cost estimate, that was ridiculously high without details of cost of labor and materials.

  I requested someone to come give me a quote on relocation and replacement of an aging water heater. Jessy was very professional and personable, and reviewed multiple options that could work for my home. He gave me estimates for everything and once I chose what I wanted we discussed scheduling. He came back from talking to the dispatcher and they were able to complete the work the same day. The work crew did an excellent job, clean installation and were careful to clean up after themselves. I’m very pleased with the service and would definitely call on them again for future needs.

  Josh from Ostrom was timely and professional. He troubleshooted and kept me informed through the whole process. He attempted to save me money by researching potential options for parts. Though his efforts didn’t yield a repair, I was still appreciative of all the hard work he put in to help reduce the cost. He was really clean too, he swept up all the dirt from installation.   Jason and his crew were outstanding. We just moved here from Arizona and purchased a home. We started experiencing some pretty serious plumbing issues right off the bat. We had a plumber come out (by recommendation) he charged us heavy and didn’t fix the issue. Then we had our septic emptied by another company and the problem persisted. We called Classic Plumbing and they sent Jason out with his guys. He listened to what we were experiencing, used the appropriate tools to assess the problem and came up with a solution. The following week he returned with his crew and went to work. I was impressed that his prediction was 100% correct. Unfortunately they had to go through our back patio concrete to get to the broken pipe but they did everything they could minimized the damage to the patio. By knowing exactly where to dig they saved us a lot of money and time redoing the patio. Having an experienced plumber like Jason and a crew who cares about doing a great job makes all the difference. These guys worked hard and got the job done. Problem completely solved. The clean up was done perfectly as well. They earned all of our future plumbing business. Hire with confidence.

  On a neighbor’s recommendation, I contacted Classic Plumbing Solutions when I needed repair work done on the drains for my 70-year old house. Leisia Cooley, the friendly voice on the phone, helped me set up an appointment right away. The repair team assessed the situation very thoroughly and presented a reasonable plan of action. On the appointed day they arrived on time and went right to work. Not a moment wasted. Even better, you could tell that the 3-person team liked working together – easy back & forth, good humor, mutual respect. The job itself took several days with several unexpected things turning up along the way (as you might expect in an old house.) Classic Plumbing Solutions solved each problem as it arose.   Great people, Poor Value.

  Had someone come over to give me an estimate, guy was nice and professional. I had already diagnosed the problem and he agreed that was the issue and still charges a diagnostic fee (company policy, ok no problem). The issue was a clogged hot water line. The quote was $1200 to rip everything out and replace. I asked why the line couldn’t be unclogged was told it couldn’t be done. Another plumber came in and unclogged the line in under 1 hour problem solved no crazy rebuild. The people are nice and professional but the value is for sure not there. Paid for my
  Own diagnoses and still almost went for a ride. The lesson is get multiple estimates on any project you need.

  Let’s start with the good:
  Of the 4 contractors I called that day, Classic had the quickest callback. The person taking my details seemed personable, organized, and communicated clearly when to expect somebody on site. I received email and text alerts before they arrived, and a phone call asking for clarification on my location.

  What needs improvement:
  I needed a hot water heater, knew the capacity and that it was gas, and had confirmation from other sources already that it needed to be replaced. Classic would not offer an estimate over the phone and insisted that an on-site consultation (mandatory fees apply) was necessary to diagnose. They explained that if a replacement was necessary, they would do it the same day.

  They arrived, spent about 10 minutes confirming what I already knew, and provided pricing. One of the 2 options was the wrong unit (electric, not gas) and when I pointed it out, they did correct it and show the gas option. It appeared to be a quirk with the app he was using. The real problem is the prices were 85% higher than what I was told by multiple other sources to expect. I told them the price range I was told to expect and asked why it was so much higher, and the response was “I don’t know but this is our prices”. I declined.

  Because I had Classic scheduled, I did not keep the ball rolling with anyone else and had to take cold showers for 2 more days before getting enough information to make an informed decision. Some of that inconvenience could have been avoided.

  Since I knew about the consultation fee ahead of time, I’m not sure I can fight them on that and I ate it, but to be fair I was also clear ahead of time that I knew a replacement unit was sensible and necessary. The price difference is too substantial to place behind a paywall.

  Given the positive feedback I am seeing, I hope this business will take this as constructive criticism and take the opportunity to improve.

  I had a leak under my toilet. I have Choice Home Warranty and had been waiting for almost a month and half for them to have a technician come out.   I got in contact with Townside through Home Depot to install a new electric hybrid water heater. They were able to come out the next day with the water heater. They removed and disposed of our giant ancient 120 gallon tank, which took three men to move and load into the truck! 😳 The techs cleaned up after themselves, were professional, and polite. I appreciate their service and would call them again.

  My Choice Home Warranty sent Townside Plumbing out for repairs very soon after I filed a claim. The tech replaced the thermocouple and we had hot water for one day before the replacement part failed again. I was told if the part failed then the water heater would need to be replaced. A second tech came out and wrote up a quote to submit to Choice. The technician noted the water tank was leaking(it was not) and Choice denied my claim. I tried on several occasions to contact Townside via phone calls, emails and texts. I was ghosted, ignored…I have an 81 year old mother who just spent 12 days in the hospital and 21 days in a rehab facility. She cannot deal with cold showers in her condition. She went 8 days before I was forced to make a decision to replace it on my own. I spent $3200 on the complete install and have an affidavit from the plumber stating that’s the tanks was fine, it was just very old( 35 years) and the replacement was recommended. I have photos of the old tank showings no leaks I really damage to the holding tank.
  I want to note that I also asked for an urgent service and emailed the company’s requesting the owner to contact me. No response.

  We were directed to them through our warranty company. They came out the same day and augered. They left saying it is the county’s lines. We immediately called them and they came out and checked and there was no problem on their end. The problem is after calling them over 10 times and leaving messages with the lady answering the phones they never call back or come out. They told the warranty company that they fixed the issue so that they would get paid. They are the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. So now a family of 5 cannot use the water because sewage comes up in the basement if we do. Do NOT EVER GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!

Spent about two hours cleaning the line and also reset a toilet that was leaking around the flange. Very knowledgeable and reasonable rates. Would recommend and will use for future plumbing jobs.

  Woke up to a clogged toilet at 3pm Sunday(work night shift) and water backing up in basement drain. After trying plunger and a hose down the drain to no avail, wife called Turdbusters having had good experience with them before.   So disappointed in Kennard Pace as I have used them over 10 years and recommended them as well. They replaced drain pipes under my kitchen sink February 25, 2021. I found a leak just last week on the new parts they replaced. The PVC pipes they installed aren’t securely connected. I was told I would be charged for a service call on work performed when the repair was more than 30 days old. I advised them they lost a customer. I expected better than this.
