- Reviews:Definitely one of our top 5 Japanese restaurants in Miami. Came here to celebrate a birthday and as always, we had a great time! Food was spectacular and delicious. Wines and beers were all also very tasty with the food! Service is also very good.By Sophia Restrepo (a year ago)This place is a hidden gem. The menu is top notch. The restaurant is cozy and clean. The service is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. So happy we walked in. Highly recommend. Note on this photo, I was curious about a jalapeno hamachi dish but too nervous to do a full order, so the waitress and chef kindly prepared this smaller sample to try with my meal. It was amazing, and I was so surprised for this beautiful presentation of a non-menu item like this. Just a great place.By Cory LaFleur (5 months ago)I have been a client for the last 20 years. My son grew up eating here. And for his 18th birthday, we decided to celebrate it here. We already had incredibly high expectations, both with the service and with the food. They somehow exceeded our expectations. From the beautiful and amazing quality food to the family-like service, sushi chef is one of, in not THE best place to have sushi in Miami. 15/10 would eat there every day!!!By CC Limardo (a week ago)authentic japonese flavors firt impression the manu its huge how this people can handle all this food in the menu and keep good freshness ? I was surprised actually yes the food was great and the service was incredible, the owner was in the restaurant looking at everything maybe that’s the reason why !! - Reviews:3/15/2023 The décor and sushi was actually pretty good and the price was very affordable. 66$ spent on two glasses of Pinot Grigio, one Coke Zero, 3 rolls consisting of 8 large pieces of sushi 🍣 each. All the sushi was fresh and delicious. Even the Coke Zero came with very large pieces of lime and lots of ice which made it very pleasant to the eyes and taste. The decor is actually very nice and authentic. Regarding the elderly men outside with the cigars they actually ordered a lot of food and to go boxes and glad to see seniors supporting local restaurants. Didn’t mind them at all speaking Portuguese. Didn’t mind the locals smoking outside, that is what the outside is for, it felt like a scene of the godfather very entertaining. Plenty of tables and areas to sit inside which are non smoking.By Abdiel “Alex” Munoz (2 months ago)Well priced and very good sushi. Accommodating and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!By Ashley Harley (3 months ago)Came just for dinner and give it a try. I liked it, good taste, good prices and creative sushi. The salmon belly nigiri, delicious. Defínales coming back.By Luisa Silva (4 months ago)A colleague was in the mood for sushi and asked me for a recommendation so I mentioned this joint because for a while I wanted to give it a try. Let me get the positive out the way because I don’t have a lot of nice things to say about the food. Having said that, at least the service is excellent and very fast. Food came out almost as it they knew what I was going to order so I guess they cook fast and perhaps maybe that’s why the food is not that good. The waitress recommended a few dishes like the Yakisoba and the bento box but I was really hungry and my colleague convinced me to try the Volcano roll which we both love from a different restaurant. Well the roll was very cold but that was bearable, what we didn’t like is how dry it was. I mean it was edible and all but a true Volcano roll which l’ve had in different places has that sauce on top that makes it a Volcano roll. In this joint the sauce was nonexistent and we were so disappointed. I also ordered the Yakisoba that was highly recommended by the waitress there and that was also a disappointment. Perhaps I should’ve ordered the chicken Yakisoba because the steak on mine was not good. The meat was hard to chew, almost like a rubbery consistency, and no flavor. The Yakisoba which is one of my favorite dishes at Japanese restaurants was ok at best. They added huge chunks of vegetables like carrots, broccoli and others and that’s all I could taste. That is not what a Yakisoba is supposed to look or taste like. The worst thing about this lunch was that we spent $60 and we didn’t even really like the food. I take it that’s the reason why they don’t even have 4 stars on Yelp. I don’t like to leave negative feedback or bash an establishment but they’ve got to change something if they want to survive. Otherwise they will lose a lot of customers and that’d be a shame because the restaurant is in a great location.By Holmes Beltran (in the last week)Great service, cool atmosphere, and a really unique menu make this place a must visit in Miami. The poke bowl was probably the best I’ve ever had, the sushi was all fresh and absolutely delicious, and the dessert Kones are an indulgent ending to your meal. They have specials going on constantly so check out their Instagram to see what’s going on! Servers are super friendly and happy to recommend menu items too.By Jacklin Altman (4 years ago)
