Thank you so much!!By Kelly Benedict (2 months ago)I have a 2005 Volvo 630VNL that has a long bed with a hydraulic lift to raise and lower a Smart car behind the cab of the truck. At the end of the bed is a 5th wheel hitch as I tow a very heavy 26,000 5th wheel RV that is 43′ long as has 4 slides. The hydraulic lift cable fitting snapped while loading car requiring two tow vehicles using cables to get the car properly on the bed of the truck. I called Houska heavy duty folks, explained my dilemma and made an appointment for the morning after I arrived in Loveland. Without having any schematics or plans of any kind and after a few days of trial and error and many labor hours to help me depart Loveland after extending our stay for almost a week (included a weekend) they strengthened every connecting point and every cable and got it functioning again. Even the owner was directly involved and after the 1st attempt at fixing failed, he said “Phil, this is on us now as you’ve paid to have this fixed right and we failed on our first attempt. This is now all on me, no cost to you. During the entire 2nd process he and it seemed like at least half of his shop workers were directly involved in making it right in a timely manner. I cannot say enough great things about Houska Automotive Heavy Duty shop. Super and friendly customer service. Bill my service/repair rep was as good as you can get. Knowledgeable, very experienced, super friendly and always kept me posted without me have to constantly nag him. All the guys that worked on my hybrid lift and were able to “reverse engineer” the lift to figure out how everything worked and with no more than 1″ tolerances to slide perfectly in the rails. They were all friendly, highly competent and took my problem on as their problem and their mission to solve it. They were all so proud to show me how everything was working and how the had beefed up everything they could. Hats off to everyone at Houska Automotive heavy duty. I unhesitatingly unequivocally recommend them for any work you may have to have done on your vehicles. They do all of my oil changes, tire rotations, and general maintenance, but the also have done lift gate fixes, new tires, and most recently a new engine in my commercial vehicle. Whether I’ve been using their repair shop, tires/oil, or heavy duty center, I’ve always had great communication, efficient/timely service, and I always feel like I was taken care of when I leave. They were able to do a diagnosis on my transmission, and found out that it was still covered under warranty by the dealership. They provided me with all the paperwork to show the dealership everything. I dropped it on a Saturday, and by Monday morning I had an answer as to what was going on with my transmission. And they are great about calling people and breaking everything down. We recently purchased a used Volvo from a national car dealership. On recommendation from Toby Castor, we had it inspected at Houska’s before our 30 day guarantee was up. They were thorough and looked at everything from top to bottom. For just over $100, we were able to bring the report back to the dealership and saved thousands of dollars on repairs, equipped with this knowledge. Toby explained everything in detail which we passed to the dealership, who ended up fixing every single issue. It’s hard to beat all the great reviews the McCormick’s had and so I thought I would give them a shot. First, their waiting room is great with several comfortable couches and complimentary drinks! The staff was very welcoming and friendly, especially Rich. Rich was quick to show me how the safety inspection went and was very honest in telling me that the few things I may want to service should be okay until the next oil change. I was not pushed to buy anything or recommended unnecessary work. Overall, they felt fair and I believe that their work was great. First my 2004 Sierra that they were able to fix on a Friday in a hurry, I mentioned that I needed it done for Saturday morning to be able to get my new car, and they made some arrangements and saved the day. I got the pleasure to speak with the co-owner who gave me a ride to pickup my car, very friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone I talked to was pleasant. I brought it to McCormick because all of the recent reviews seemed so positive and genuine. After bringing my car in I don’t think I’ll be taking it anywhere else as long as I live in the area. The staff were friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable. The team was able to inspect my entire vehicle, fix a damaged wheel bearing and service the coolant system all in the same day. I dropped my car off at 8am, they shuttled me home, sent me a detailed report of my cars inspection with photos! And picked me up to go get my car by 4pm that same day.
